Content Consumption 2021

2021 has been another strange year but thankfully not as insane as 2020. 

If you know me at all, you know I love stats and photos; so another full year of Take Daily is complete, and let's get into some fun data.

According to my Fitbit I racked up an incredible 3,742,142 steps in 2021, that's 1,813 miles! Yay for health being wealth! Alas, I also drank 425+ alcoholic beverages over the course of the year, so apologies liver! I averaged 6h 47m of sleep per night, and got my weight down from 212lbs to 185lbs where I've maintained it. 2022 will see my next big health goal tackled; quitting nicotine, eeek.

This is approximately the same distance that I walked in 2021.

Since the start of the year I freelanced for SureFit and Stanier Events including web design, logo work and other marketing materials. In March I was given a car by my sister and crashed it within a week, then allowed my crippling anxiety to convince me to not drive it for the past 6 months - so that's been fun. I'll likely be selling it soon...

Got back into weekly football at Powerleague with the lads, meanwhile the UEFA EURO 2020 tournament (which had been postponed due to Covid) finally went ahead over the summer meaning lots of excuses for piss-ups in the sun. It helped that England made it all the way to the final before losing to Italy.

My youngest brother turned 18 y/o in June; crazy that all my siblings are now officially grown ass adults. Makes me feel old - well, I am old tbf - September saw me celebrate my 34th birthday in Stone/Stafford which was a nice change from the norm. It didn't buck the trend of me getting pissed though which has been a recurring theme this year.

Enjoyed a few days out with my daughter including Snugburys, Wheelock Hall Farm, Dimensions, Waterworld, Wallasey Beach, Inflato, Just Kidding, Planet VR, Stoke Pride, Escape Stoke, Flipout, and Gandeys Circus. Had a handful of days out with my Godson too including Stanworths Fun Fair, Flipout, Fast Lane Karting and Brindley Farm. Even spent a day at Bagnall Norton Cricket Club for Tilly's birthday which was different.

I've not been allowed to have a holiday this year thanks to Covid restrictions, although in July I went to see a Smiths Tribute band at Eleven and actually caught Covid which allowed me to put my documented beliefs to the test. Long story short, I was a little under the weather for a few days, then perfectly fine. My daughter caught it too and developed Parosmia which was worse than anything I experienced. Go look it up; it was traumatic.

This year I attended two Stag Do's (Liverpool for T/York for Heathy) and two Weddings (Rowton Castle for T/Ashes Barn for Heathy). Both were incredible days with amazing people.

Went Betley Bonfire for the first time ever, and likely the last time ever too; as my sister Sammie will confirm, it was an absolute shit show thanks to traffic jams up country lanes. My sister in law had a buzzcut for Mind charity and raised £1,300; swear I've donated more than enough to charity this year as my brother T has ran a couple half marathons too including Stafford and the Potters Alf. Despite all my generous charity, I've still managed to shift £3,000 off my debts in 2021; just over another year and I should be entirely debt free for the first time in over a decade. Well. Besides Student Loan debts, but they don't count.

Oh yeah, and just before Christmas I went to watch Spider-Man: No Way Home at VUE with T & Moz (awesome film, you should totes watch it); I realised I hadn't been to the cinema in over a year! I typically watch stuff at home as you can see below... so big shout out to Disney+ for adding cinema released films to their platform ASAP!

I'm not a huge film watcher. By the time I get into the plot and start to understand the characters motivations and perspectives, it's almost over. Also it requires assigning a longer period of time to sit and watch it; it's not as portable or digestible as TV shows.
