A fun little tale to brighten your morning. Each morning, Lysh wakes me up so that we can go downstairs, usually like half 7. Last night she went bed at 11pm and I saw an opportunity to get a bigger lie in by leaving her iPad in her room for when she wakes up. Play on that, let me sleep. Seemed logical. This morning Lysh woke me just after 6am. I'm like wtf, why aren't you playing on your iPad and letting me sleep!? You've woken me up earlier than usual?! She replies, I've been playing on it for 3hrs now, I woke up at 3am. Fml. 🥴🤯🤦🏼♂️

Last night's shenanigans began at 3:30am when Ilysha fell out of bed which resulted in her taking over my bed. I forgot how traumatic it is sharing a bed with a kid. If it wasn't her hair in my face, it was her elbow. At least we got to sleep until 08:18... sorta.

Over the last year, my daily caloric averages have been:
In = 1,813.
Out = 3,179.
Deficit = 1,366.
As your metabolism adapts, and your weight falls, you stop losing weight as easily and can plateau; this is because your body learns to manage energy differently, and the calorie density of foods varies. A common myth I fell prey too myself was that 3500 calories = 1lb fat, which isn't accurate in practice (it came from a scientific study over 50yrs ago). The fact is though, that calorie deficit is the only factor that really matters for weight loss. If you burn off more than you consume, you're going to lose weight; it's irrefutable. Whether you eat less, exercise more, or a combination of both, you can lose weight regardless. Just in case anyone was curious. 👌
