Lovely night with the fam at bowling for Sammie & Keanu's birthdays ๐ณ๐ happy with finishing first place overall on my lane, even if I came second in both games... notably after Keanu's miracle 3x Strike in a row to steal my win on the first game! ❌❌❌

Been sat waiting for Lysh get ready to go shopping for 2hrs now ๐ the irony being that we are only going so she can spend my money getting her friend a birthday present and Galentine's gift. I mean, if we don't end up going then it's her own loss... I don't really mind about not spending my money on her mate! ๐๐ผ♂️

Back from shopping; managed to limit the damage to £50 including £10 Robux plus overpriced skincare products! ๐ Ava better be as happy with the haul as Lysh is. The cosmetic industry proper mugs women off (and men by extension) as I've just spent £10 on Monday Shampoo and Conditioner for Bug... which is 5x what I pay for my own!

The shit tests this kid puts me through ๐ just been around the shop to get her some spaghetti because she had a full on meltdown and went to her room protesting food after refusing every meal option available (despite the options being foods that she requested that I purchase previously) ๐

[Playing Ghost of Tsushima]
The environments continues to mesmerize me. I spend so much time in Photo Mode, just playing with lighting and angles. The breadth of content is insane in respect of Tales, Locations (Fox Dens, Hot Springs etc.) and Activities (Bamboo, Haiku, Shinto Shrines etc.), I am constantly drawn forward to new locations and experiences, further assisted by the fantastic design choice of using wind direction as your compass! The combat is satisfying (especially cleaving off limbs ร la The Witcher 3), though at times frustrating if you are getting swarmed which occurs a lot of the times due to the inability to be stealthy since you are spotted so damn easily! I have just begun Act II and feel like I have barely scratched the surface. The scope of this game is huge and I am 100% here for it. One other note; I am not a fan of how the 'fog of war' removes so minimally even with Travellers Lv.3... I admittedly looked online and saw that clearing all the occupied Mongol camps will fully lift it, but I kinda wish it was done in territories with a smaller area clearing per camp rather than all at once. That's only a minor gripe though.

"Waste not your time on low people, for we can never obtain sugar from the reed. The wolf’s whelp will at length become a wolf, although it is brought up along with men. How can anyone form a good sword out of bad iron? O ye philosophers, it is impossible to convert a worthless wretch into a good man. The rain, in whose nature there is no partiality, produces tulips in the garden, but only weeds in a barren soil. A sterile soil will not yield spikenard, waste not then seed upon it" - [Gulistan by Saadi Shirazi]

[Playing Ghost of Tsushima]
If you are appreciating every aspect in it's entirety, this game is gargantuan. 36hrs in and I am still in Act 2 (of 3) and still have the Iki DLC to play. I still feel like there is overwhelming amounts of content for me to explore. The Tales (side quests) do not feel like typical fetch quests or trivial time wasting to beef up the playtime, each feels beautifully handcrafted, layered with depth and insight, and unique in content. In fact, thinking about it, there does not feel like much repetition in this title so far beside the combat (though even that is super varied using all the Stances and techniques). The Collectibles are not bog standard either; they are lore items, organically located, each steeped in lore which adds value to the experience. The Activities are little fun mini-games which you welcome rather than avoid. And the Shrines are some of the best level design I've ever seen; gorgeous little mini areas of parkour and exploration, isolated and preserved in their seclusion; utterly fascinating how they are structured in respect of traversal. The game continues to hypnotise me with it's refined beauty, and even now I still find myself stopping to just breathe in the scenery and bask in it's elegant splendour. This game is a true masterpiece.

Split my work trousers at the crotch and had to go buy a replacement pair from Primark mid-afternoon. Making my tea, managed drop the open tin of tuna, and in the process of catching it spilt half the contents on myself and the floor. Then just accidentally gave away my Lemonade Stand on Adopt Me to some rando whilst trying give them a drink for free. What a comedy of errors today has been! ๐คก

Lovely day in Rhyl with Lysh, Sammie & Lance despite the evident dereliction of the locality. After grabbing some traditionally overpriced street food of burgers, hotdogs and chips, we wandered past SC2 and the defunct skytower with "99's with a flake" that actually cost £3 each ๐ฆ A little further on we went by the little fairground on the prom which has seemingly been closed down and left as the skeleton since we came a couple years ago. Escaping the roving gangs of seagulls that stalked the seafront trying to steal ice-creams from children, we ventured onto the beach for an hour. After paddling in the ice-cold February tides which ebbed across the shoreline before rapidly engulfing the area (including almost isolating Lysh on a sandbar ๐) we had a wander through the rocks which form the crabbing grounds once the sea withdraws and found sperm whale dick holes in some, and blood on others ๐ Lance nearly baseball struck a rock at Sammie using the umbrella as a bat ⚾ and then Lysh beat Lance at noughts and crosses, drawn elegantly in the sand using the very same versatile umbrella ๐ We left the beach as the rain began, changing back into appropriate footwear alongside a bike riding smackhead sat on a bench singing to themselves (or making Tik-Toks possibly). We walked back toward the arcades past a bus stop occupied by an arguing couple that was escalating toward violent altercation. Not my circus, nor monkeys. Speaking of animals, we also passed the Sealife Centre which was boarded up. Like most of Rhyl is seems ๐๐ผ♂️ We nipped in a cheap shop (where the locals were stealing alcohol) and bought some drinks and snacks. Lysh was blown away by the fact she got Gatorade, Bugles and Flipz for £3 ๐ The Maccies opposite was overrun with chavs and roadmen, and their toilets were a state; thankfully we weren't hanging about and quickly left the area after bladder's were emptied. Nipped back to the car to drop off some stuff, then headed to the arcades ๐ฐ Sammie was shocked when I withdrew £50, but thankfully I only needed to spend £15 of it on 2p's to keep us entertained for an hour or so. Lysh had a ball, winning pretty much everything in the machine (even some bonus items thanks to the staff who just got them out for her!) ๐ค then after scouring the ground and failing to find any more loitering 2p's to get that final dopamine hit like a fiend withdrawing, we headed across to the ticket eater to tally up the take... ๐ซ The combined total was 1141 tickets which Lysh happily spent on a bluetooth speaker, an alien slingshot, and some sweets. We managed to just pop in a closing store and grab a rock dummy before passing some undesirable who tried to engage us in conversation as we headed back to the car. As we were loading up, the same guy wandered back passed us, and Sammie locked the door on instinct because he looked proper sus! ๐คจ We headed back home, swerving by a Maccies for some food; the server "forgot" to give us Sammie's wrap, luckily she was alert and checked before we pulled off. I pranged the car door up a bollard trying to get the server's attention (luckily without any damage it seems) and we drove back having a munch and a laugh. It's been a good day ๐ the random shit just makes it more interesting and memorable ๐คฃ

Curated my backlog and clipped some titles that have been lingering on there. Some of the remaining titles are 100+ hours; being real, I'm not going to get around to because of the over saturation of available content. I'm around 60hrs into Ghost of Tsushima, and still have a fair bit to do. Also renewing PS+ Extra next month which will then add Assassin's Creed Valhalla to my available backlog... so many games, so little time! ๐ฎ

Been a surreal afternoon. Went grab a Starbies with Bug, and popped down Burslem Park. Randomly bumped into Gav down there with Leighton, Lincoln, Blake and Alyssa (Charlie's siblings). Ended up kicking a ball about with the lads for a bit and Lysh was playing with them too. They reminded me so much of young Charlie and Christine. It's actual wild.

Nice chill day with Char just lazying about watching Tik-Toks and chatting about a whole bunch of nothing. Not sure where the day has even gone tbf, it flew by. Transpires my PS3 has died too; it comes on for a few seconds, makes a click and turns off with the power LED blinking red. When they picked Char up, my Mum just had a little whinge that I could make more of an effort to go and visit them on the bus like I used to pre-Covid; not being funny, but most weeks we can't even have a proper phone conversation because she has other priorities like needing to go make tea or watching her TV show... takes no interest in mine or Lysh's lives, never asks about anything to do with us, just tells us about medical issues, the dog, Charlies behaviour, or her new clothes airer... but sure, I'll spend 3hrs commuting on unreliable buses after being at work all day, to pop around and see you for an hour because it's more convenient for you... ๐

These drop rates are awful @PlayAdoptMe
12hrs of playing the event to get a measly 3x pets is not a good return for time invested. No pet from the Lure in the last 6.5hrs of playing. It's not fun, it's frustrating. This is how you lose your player base and future revenue.

[Playing Ghost of Tsushima]
This Iki Island expansion is solid content. The new activities and quests, the new environment (Senjo Gorge, Kidafure Battleground & Shattered Cliffs especially!) and the new combat mechanics are all great additions to the experience. The cherry on the cake so far however has been the Wind Shrine rewards and the Ghost of Iki cameo! Thoroughly enjoying this game still, it's not stale at all, even this far in.

Extremely reluctant to put this down, but it's time to move onto a new game after a month of playing this at every opportunity. Pretty much completed everything I possibly could besides a few Records, Vanity Items, and Banners. From a trophy perspective (as I do typically try to mop up as many as I can), I collected everything except those from NG+ and Legends (Online); frustratingly this meant missing the 'Common Courtesy Trophy' from the "Iki Island: Story" DLC set as it requires playing Legends rather extensively. Cannot recommend this title highly enough. [/76hrs].

After a shambles of trying to arrange a match for this week, we finally confirmed the booking this morning at like 11am... as a result the pitch wasn't available until 21:45 kick-off! ⚽๐ณ Shaun picked the teams, and I'm not saying they were unbalanced, but the final scoreline was 30-7 ๐ That's correct; over a ~70-min period, we scored 23 more goals than they did. The highlight for me (as the goalkeeper on the winning side) was when Salty cut past the final defender, and I shut him down on the edge of the box, sprawled across the ground blocking his entire view of the goal... so he tried to chip me, and I felt heroic AF scrambling backwards and just managing to get a hand on it to push it over the bar! ๐ฏ๐ช๐ผ
