Woke up at 10am-ish to Lysh coming in the bedroom saying her Mum was on the phone and wanted an update. I'm in the middle of trying to explain whilst half asleep when an incoming call from NHS flashes up on my phone. Got an appointment at Basford for 11:30. Expecting it's all much ado about nothing.

Reassuring that the doctor was just sat Googling photos of rashes on CDC and NHS website. Even saw him on the exact website I'd looked at last night myself. He says it's likely Folliculitis and should clear up on it's own if left alone. As predicted. At Ree's request I queried about Legionnaire's and he said no indication of concern plus no testing they could do at this stage regardless. Rang Ree and let her know the situation. Now we're going to get something eat from the papershop, then Lysh wants go Hanley Forest Park, so fuck it at this point, may as well make the most of already being out the house!

[Playing Far Cry New Dawn]
Pretty decent start to a game; likely going to help that I played FC5 last year so the plot etc is relatively fresh in my recall. Graphically once you are out of the wreckage is gorgeous, moving up the river and seeing the abundance of flora and fauna; I anticipate it will all get a little samey-samey in due course but for now, it's charming enough. The premise of the plot seems coherent; then again, I have never played a FC game where the plot has been awful. Jumping into this directly after playing a game where you can slow time whilst aiming is a bit of trial by fire - almost died in the opening chapter, and my AI companion got downed multiple times which was annoying. I've already ventured out from base and cleared an Outpost, found a Stash, recruited a G4H etc, so it's safe to say the game let's you get on with it and doesn't force you into some long winded intro. Enjoying so far. Mindful that I intend to go for the Plat, so I've already invested in unlocking Expeditions so I can find a Co-op partner to get the associated Trophy.

Lysh just introduced me on Adopt Me as her "mate" 🤨 I was confused. She said it's kinda embarrassing now playing Roblox with her Dad when she has friends to play with. And I get it... even though it sucks. I guess I'm just desperately trying to cling to shared interests so I can keep showing up for her and spending time with her 🥺 now I'm here playing Far Cry on the PS4 and shes sat on her iPad behind me playing with her friends without me. It just feels wrong, like she is slipping away 😔 but then I guess that's what growing up means, right? The important transition from parents to peers... love her so much, it's crazy missing someone when they are sat next to you 💛

Went up town with Bug with a budget of ~£100. Needed get 4x Mothers Day stuff + Birthday stuff for Ree. Popped KFC, Card Factory, Boots, Superdrug, Poundland and Primark. Spent £150 including £13 on some BYOMA skincare stuff for Lysh 😐 all I bought for myself was food lol 🙃

Mothers Day. Charlie wouldn't get out of bed, so since he didn't visit, my Mum and Dawn didn't bother to pop over either for me to give them their cards etc. I considered going to drop them off, but then I decided that I'm over it. I don't want to. We only speak if I call/message first. When I do speak to them, there is no interest in mine or Ilysha's lives - it's just an update about their lives. And the call ends usually because they need go cook tea or want to watch their TV shows; that's where the priorities are. I only get to see them very briefly if they're dropping Charlie off and if I want to actually spend any notable time with them, I need to go their house. It's all one way traffic and I'm over it. They could pop over in the car easily enough since they were supposed to be coming to drop Charlie off anyway, but they can't be bothered; and I can't be fucked with unreliable and infrequent Sunday bus services either so... 💁🏼♂️

The story mission where you fight the twins is frustratingly absurd. Mickey & Lou are goddamn bullet sponges with impeccable accuracy. You try to get a vantage spot to fight back, and either get hit with a headshot, or blown up by an RPG... all whilst being mauled endlessly by infinite-spawning dogs. FML. Never known anything like it. This is just dumb.

For anyone else arriving here frustrated, after leveling up the Homebase further, and upgrading Perks substantially, and getting Horatio to self-revive (15-Kills), and then using Wrath to prevent being knocked-down... the fight was considerably easier. I admittedly stood over the dead bodies of Mickey & Lou afterwards, unloading absurd amounts of bullets into their corpses. Main questline finished. Now to mop up trophies. Also, Expeditions kinda remind me of Spec Ops from the OG CoD MW2.

Mopping up trophies and feel the need to note my frustration with animals not spawning when you actively try to hunt them for their pelts. Wild how I can air drop directly onto the map marker for a specific animal (i.e. Moose), then spend 25-minutes wandering around in that area and still not see a single one.

Thanks Virgin Media. Renewed my contract on Feb 27th: 250mb broadband @£43pcm for 18-mo. Had a nightmare trying to use their website, insofar as I lodged an official complaint because it won't show me anything to do with the new contract and the UX is abysmal. After two online web chats and a pointless email conversation that went nowhere (and consisted of Virgin trying to close the complaint without it being resolved), it's finally been sorted over WhatsApp today 🙌🏼 Turns out that despite me receiving an email confirming the new contract was implemented, nobody at Virgin Media can find anything to do with it on their end. I've had to send over the CIS and CSS documents on three separate occasions. They were totally oblivious to the fact I'd even signed a new contract 💁🏼♂️ What a great website! 😑 Anywho, their resolution today was to offer me a sincere apology, promises to fix their website UX, and a new contract of 350mb broadband @£35pcm for 18-mo... SOLD! 😂🤑

Planned to watch Eras Tour on Disney+ with Bug. Intended for Lysh to shower at 7pm, and get the show rolling at 8pm since it has a 3.5hr runtime. Unexpectedly Sammie, Lance & Lo pop around scuppering our planned timeline. Suddenly it's 9pm and we still haven't started watching it yet; Lysh has showered and we've spent 15-minutes making a Tik-Tok of making homemade popcorn tho 🍿 so then we put it on and settle down with a load of scran, popcorn, biscoff ice cream etc. And 40-minutes in, all the food is gone, Ava is on facetime & Bug no longer wants to watch it preferring to go on Roblox with Ava 😐😂

[Playing Uncharted: The Lost Legacy]
Having already played all 4x previous Uncharted titles, it was pretty easy to jump right into this. I did check the trophy guide in advance, and after seeing a trophy tied to difficulty (requiring completing the game on Crushing) I opted to disregard the Platinum and just play through the title without concern for trophies. I had forgotten just how janky movement can be in Uncharted games, changing direction when running for example, or trying to move organically such as traversing with ropes and using the piton. It's not fun falling from great height because the game doesn't register the piton button being pressed. Or getting stuck on a wall for instance when trying to dodge into cover, and standing exposed to gunfire whilst desparately trying to get around a corner where Chloe just won't move properly is frustrating. Being able to loot and switch between weapons without concern for upgrading them makes it less stressful. In a gunfight you can just grab a dead enemies gun and crack on as you were. The graphics are acceptable for the age of the title. Exploration with the jeep is fun and the map feels nicely put together. I really enjoyed the handcrafted environments in the city at the beginning, the desk where you find the Disc especially stands out. Some of the dialogue has been a little cringe, and the relationship between the two protagonists feels a little forced at times, but for what it is, it's not a deal breaker.

Stace has informed me that today my Mum has fallen over and bashed her face as a direct result of Charlie's bedroom being absolutely trashed to the point the entire floor is covered in rubbish. Like an episode of fucking hoarders. It's actually disgusting. Then Dawn has told Jane that my Mum has fallen over the dog on her crutches rather than admit the truth - that they refuse to parent Charlie and let him do whatever he wants, then blame it on 'PDA'. Ridiculous. Not heard anything off them yet directly; be interested to hear what version of events I get told. Love my Mum and it breaks my heart to see the shit she is going through with her health lately, but these are the consequences of her own life choices... 😔

Finished the playthrough without much fanfare. Frustrated toward the end. Gameplay gets stale and repetitive. Combat is dumb frenetic. Super relieved I was not playing on Crushing as most gunfights descend into an utter shitshow immediately. The moment you fire an unsilenced gunshot, you are peppered from all sides. Enemies all immediately identify your precise position and unload on you, whilst you're trying desperately to line up a clear shot to conserve ammo since you can empty an entire clip and not even kill a single enemy. Nadine's retard AI got me killed on numerous occasions by running in the way as I tried to jump to a ledge causing me to fall to my death... or running toward me during combat and drawing enemies attention to my previously concealed position. Way before the end of the game I got bored of getting stuck on buildings constantly or the janky ass jump mechanic where you stand still jumping vertically on the spot rather than vaulting over minor obstacles. The only saving grace for me were the beautiful environments and the relationship between the protagonists. Would not rush back to replay this title and not bothering to even chase low hanging fruit trophies.

I had played the Demo of this previously so my progress transferred over into this play-through. Team is Kevin/Charlotte/Riesz. Currently heading to Beiser.

Still really enjoying this game. Art style reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur. The combat is a little button-bashy at present, but I'm putting that down to not having a very wide move-set available yet. I'm also noticing a trend of backtracking to previous areas I've visited, but at least the enemies update and scale so I can still grind/farm XP a little along the way. Still really enjoying this game. Art style reminds me of Kingdoms of Amalur. The combat is a little button-bashy at present, but I'm putting that down to not having a very wide move-set available yet. Lysh has told me she wants to get healthier - based on recent conversations with her, I think this comes from self-consciousness about her weight. Currently trying to carefully help guide her towards better food choices, without giving her an eating disorder or overcomplicating things. My relationship with food still isn't particularly great; I obsess over calorie counting and undereat constantly. Don't want that for Bug! 🙈

Established already this morning that Lysh's healthy eating lark is going to cost me a bomb in wasted food since she doesn't like the Yeo Valley Greek Yoghurts, the Watermelon Fans, or the Innocent Smoothie she asked for... so that's like £8 of food I've bought needlessly! 🥴😂

Char has visited today and we had a nice time watching The Dictator, going down Burslem Park for a bit, and looking at old photos of us together 💙 Now, onto the outlandish stuff that is consistent with these visits. Today's food intake consisted of a San Marco Pepperoni Pizza, a Large Egg Custard, a 65g bag of Thai Sweet Chicken Mccoys, a 55g bag of Takis Fuego, a Wrights Sausage Roll, a 95g bag of Dairy Milk Buttons, and 3x Ocean Jelly sweets for a combined grand total of over 3,500 calories... but he claims he only weighs 13st and has been losing loads of weight. He claimed he receives £5 each weekday & £10 each day at weekends (so £45x52 = £2,340 p/a) plus another £30 put into his bank on the 12th of each month (another £360) so £2,700 a year in pocket money. Said it sounds unrealistic but he was adamant it's true much to my disbelief. Then he was telling me he's buying a motorbike (big debate about how he isn't old enough to have a licence, insurance or tax to which he was saying he can buy fake ID, the previous owner could just not tell the DVLA they've sold it, he can use his Mum's driving licence etc...) and a hunting rifle to use in Blackpool to hunt squirrels and rabbits; given the track record in that household, I wouldn't even be surprised if it happened... he had a vape at 9, a gas-powered BB-gun at 11, an electric scooter at 13... why not continue the trend of unsuitable purchases for a child? 🥴 tells me he hads got 47/50 and 50/50 on recent school tests yet school have taken him Moorland for a fat steak, he's been Flip-Out and Jay's Cafe for his breakfast this week... wild schooling imo - saying he's staying there for college, University, and then they're giving him a job as a teacher at the school 😐 he has no concept of how the real world works at all and at approaching 15-years old, it's maddening to see him still living in delulu land.

Got to Bowling at 18:40 and couldn't get on the lane until 19:10, so killed some time with Lysh on the arcade machines - Thunder Hammer II, Piano Keys, and Typhoon! Once we got on the lanes, it went from bad to worse for me personally - shocking display on bowling ineptitude! 🎳 though tbf, nobody (even Lysh with bumpers up) managed to score over 81 in a single game! 😳😂 Lysh kept changing everyone's names and photos which is becoming her favourite part of going bowling I think... 🤨🙃 and despite the horrific performances, we had fun and it was really nice spending some quality time with Tez & Stace (and sharing their pizza and chips 🍕🍟)! Cheers for the lift home and for Lysh's Easter Egg too! 🥰

Today has been wildly long, uncharacteristically spontaneous, and exceptionally enjoyable! After waking up late and rushing out the door, we were heading to Gracie's for the prearranged Easter Hunt/playdate at 11:00. Whilst heading there, Amelia messages asking Lysh if she wants to walk up with her, so we bail out the taxi at Amelia's house and walk the rest of the way together instead. All the kids (Lysh, Amelia, Gracie, Connie, Reuben and Mason) go complete the Easter Egg Hunt down the backs, then the girls have a play out in the garden together whilst I sit having a chat and a brew with Laura (Gracie's Mum). The kids all go play upstairs whilst I pop up Aldi to fetch some coffee, coke and hot cross buns (which I end up eating most of!), and Laura sorts out the kids lunch. After they've eaten they return to playing upstairs leaving me & Laura to chat. We leave Gracie's at 15:20 so that Laura can get ready for work. Lysh has been messaging Ava throughout the day about going the Top Park; Amelia confirms with her Mum that she can go too, so we walk up to Ava's Nan's which coincidentally just happens to be opposite where Lysh lived in the past on Appleton. We all head up to the Top Park and Lysh immediately goes on the zip-line and gets drenched from the waist down by a huge puddle 😂 then Amelia gets her new white trainers caked in mud, feels sick from the roundabout and falls asleep on the tyre swing whilst I push Lysh & Ava on the regular swings... when we walk Ava back down to her Nan's at 17:00, suddenly we're all being invited inside, and next thing I know, I'm sat chatting with June (Ava's Nan) whilst the girls make Tik-Tok's in the kitchen... then we all sit watching White Chicks together whilst the kids eat Kinder Bueno's and drink Irn Bru 🤣 Surreal! 😂 Before we know it, Ava is being picked up by her Dad (Jamie) and we're walking Amelia back home at 19:30 in the dark! 😐😂 After dropping her off, we wait for a taxi over at Knypersley Sports Club and finally got home around 20:30!! We've just eaten our tea - what a day!! 🤯😅

Lysh was ready to go bed at 18:30 but then perked up after having something eat. I suggested watching a film together and she enthusiastically agreed. After I shot down her suggestions of Wild Child or White Chicks (as we've seen them both before multiple times) she was insistent we watch Before I Wake, a horror film that she's seen the other day and enjoyed. Having never seen it myself, I was like cool, okay... We've just turned it off with 40-minutes left because she's now convinced it's going to give her nightmares of the Canker Man 😐😂 so we're watching Pixels instead! 🎮
