Been a fun day out with Bug. We got up at 10ish and after getting sorted, we headed up Hanley on the bus for midday. Had some lunch together at Greggs, then wandered down to Just Kidding. I am always mindful that one day it will be the last time she wants to go soft play, so we had a great time together in the play frames. A young girl called Lucy was being bullied by a group of 5 other kids; we stuck up for her and told the bullies to leave her alone... well, Lysh told them "leave her the fuck alone or else" and the bullies then cried to their parents and tried to play the victims 🤣 then Lucy and her mate Lauren became Lysh's besties for the remainder of the time there 😊 after our session ended, we headed up to Primark to get kiddo a few bits of necessary clothing (plus a Nirvana jumper), and then missed the intended bus home... 🤦🏼♂️ so we grabbed a drink from the shop and popped up Hanley Forest Park until the next bus was due! 😁 it's been a lovely Easter Weekend with her! I am so blessed to have such a great relationship with my kid! I cherish it all! 💗

I have such an incredible and overwhelming collection of old photos and videos that would provide such a clusterfuck of emotions if I uploaded them, ranging from nostalgia, to amusement, embarrassment, concern, and shock! 🤐 Uploading them on here would prompt much reminiscing, laughter, tears... and more than likely many headaches and heartbreaks! And for that reason, I will respect the fact that they're snapshots of who we used to be and not who we are now... and accordingly I will leave them where they belong - in my deep archive of evidence that I can use to blackmail people in the future! 🤣 Ahh. fond memories with many people that time has made strangers... 😌

Gender identity/LGBTQ has very much been in vogue in recent years. My daughter came home from school one day saying she was a non-binary, bisexual, demi-girl, and her preferred pronouns were she/they. She was only 9 when this started, and highly impressionable. Try telling a child who does not even understand what sex is, that they cannot possibly know that they are bisexual - and yet she adamantly wore that label proudly, along with constantly posting the LGBTQ flag symbols everywhere. As a parent it's difficult to find the balance between letting your child know you accept them as whoever they are, and at the same time, not encouraging them to play into these gender politics that can permanently damage them. When I delved deeper, my daughter explained that every girl in her class was either lesbian or bisexual and that most of them were non-binary or trans too. It seemed likely that this was just a "trendy" thing and she was trying to fit in, but it caused a lot of difficult conversations and much anxiety for me behind closed doors. She seems to have "grown out" of it for the time being. Six months ago she came home identifying as a 'therian' and I went down that rabbit hole with her; again, it transpired it was stuff she was emulating from social media - she was following lots of channels of other kids being 'therians' and one of the girls in her class identified as 'therian'. She has already grown out of that one. I guess what I'm trying to say here, is that kids are very malleable, and they latch onto whatever is trending at the time. They also emulate the behaviour of their peer group to "fit in" so when something like this becomes fashionable, it stands to reason they would all align themselves with it. My daughter has an expensive skincare routine at 11yrs old! Every weekend when she comes to stop over at my house she brings all her Cerave, Byoma, Mario Badescu, Sol de Janeiro Brazilian Bum Bum Cream, The Ordinary etc. from her Mums! It's insane. And the Stanley Cup thing? If so, my daughter has one too - her Mum got it her a few weeks ago.

I wasn't going to bother going for the Platinum on Trials of Mana because it requires multiple playthroughs... but now I'm kinda on the fence as all the difficult trophies are done and NG+ carries over a lot of your inventory which facilitates speed-running... it's just the time investment to run back through the content again twice more with a different party of characters, hmm.

Hadn't even bothered get dressed, just chucked her new Nirvana jumper on over her PJ's and lazed about watching Jake & Johnnie, playing on Roblox etc. Now, this close to tea-time and home-time, she's decided she wants go the park after all... 🥴 Herd 'em up, and move 'em out! Charlie telling me he now has £210 (and pulled a wad of notes out of his wallet to prove it). I asked where he's had it all from - apparently he's now getting £10 a day pocket money. My head falls off at the absurdity of it. He then tells me that they're trying to defraud CAHMS into giving them £600 a month which Charlie is allegedly having transferred directly into his bank account. It would not even surprise me if that happened at this point. I then recall Stace telling me that the other day, Charlie had been sent the shop with £5 to get some bread, and instead went the gym with the money 😤 I told him we need pop up the Potteries this afternoon and he replied that he thinks he's banned from going in there... apparently the other week he was with Jayden and they tried to shoplift some perfume and got caught, resulting in security dragging him out by his hood and telling him he's not allowed back inside. So I naturally become very dubious about the origins of this £210 - either he's stolen it, sold stolen goods to accrue it, or he really is being paid £10 a day pocket money. Each of those scenarios are maddening. I messaged my Mum and asked her, but she left me on read. Hmm. Claims he lost his virginity in November last year, but couldn't tell me the name of who it was with... then after scrolling through his phone "remembers" that it was some girl called Tilly and shows me a photo of the back of some random girl 😂 After telling me he's bought a gas-powered BB-gun again off John down Stoke, he also showed me a video of him handling what appears to be a real revolver which he apparently found in Jayden's backgarden. Went up Primark to exchange some leggings for Lysh, then went to the Museum for a nostalgic wander around. Some timid female worker accompanied us all around the ground floor conversing with us as though she were our personal tour guide 🤣 we left to catch the bus, and Charlie insisted we go to the bus station rather than catching it from the bus stop right by the museum, so we walked up... and subsequently missed our bus! 😐 I suggested we run across Hanley because we could catch back up with the bus by the Spiky Man if we're quick enough... Charlie reluctantly agrees, then promptly gives up running after around 100-metres because he is completely out of breath to the point he cannot run any further! 🤯 so we end up catching a different bus to Burslem and walk up Moorland Road... which Charlie is dying from as it's too far and too steep 🥴 it frustrates me no end that they've let him get like this. He was such a young and healthy lad, we used to go missions everywhere, nowadays he gets out of breath just walking around the house! I honestly don't think I will ever be able to forgive them for ruining him how they have... it's infuriating. And they just continue to take no accountability and blame it all on PDA. No discipline, structure, routine, or accountability. No control over his sleep pattern or diet. No concern for his education since he goes a special needs school who just take him for meals and daytrips rather than giving him an actual proper schooling. No oversight over where he goes, who he associates with, or what he gets up to. They seemingly just let him do whatever he wants without any involvement. He's an impressionable 14-year old for fuck sake! 🤬 And he thinks this is what life is always going to be like - just all fun and games, more money than you know what to do with, and zero consequences for your poor life choices! Such a misguided and malformed world view!

Second "10k" Just Run complete. Not entirely convinced tracking a 10k based purely on time is accurate. All I can categorically state is that I've ran for 4x 10-minutes interspersed with 1-min walks between "sets". Definitely looking lean though! 😅

Game was repetitive by the third playthrough so it was speed-ran in ~5hrs on NG+ by carrying over my fully levelled team, using Magic Ropes wherever possible to remove backtracking in dungeons, and fleeing from pretty much every battle possible, and whenever I couldn't flee, I spammed Class Strikes relentlessly. Platinum trophy earned after ~41hrs 🎮🏆

Reading this manifesto is actually infuriating; the lifestyle afforded to this guy via his rich parents is enviable. The opportunities, support, and encouragement he received was above and beyond what most kids get. I cannot even fathom the victimhood mentality this kid somehow fostered in his own head. One thing is apparent; he even uses the word himself in the following excerpt: he had such an inflated sense of self-worth that he felt entitled to anything he wanted. His upbringing was a pattern largely consisting of stamping his feet, having a tantrum, and getting his own way. Unfortunately, when it comes to social relationships, such selfishness and entitlement often yields poor outcomes. If you become an insufferable asshole with a God complex, egotistical and thinking you're superior to everyone else, then unsurprisingly, others will detect this and not particularly like you. This dude was Nice Guy Syndrome on steroids. Yikes. "I am an intelligent gentleman, and I deserve the love of girls more than the other obnoxious boys of my age, and yet they get girls and I don't. Been a fun night at Horn and Trumpet for the Pub Quiz and Steak Night with T & Stace! Steak Squad finished 5th with 79pts, although first place only finished on 86pts so it was close at the top! 🥩🍻🧠

Lysh randomly asks to walk down to the hill on Little Chell Lane crossroad to watch the sunset... and then as we wander across, we walk passed Master Chef chippy and it smells incredible so we deviate inside and order some food... they overcharge my card by £3 which I luckily notice and get reimbursed... and now we've sat here eating chippy on the hill under the sunset, listening to Jake Webber songs, and Lysh has been dancing around recording a Tik-Tok... simple happiness 😊💛

Most of the day was spent just lazying about, bit of gaming, bit of TV, bit of Tik-Tok, bit of Alexa... you know those types of day. Lysh was booored but couldn't think of anything she wanted to do besides watch the sunset again - which wasn't until this evening. I find it frustrating as a parent trying to entertain kids when they shoot down every feasible suggestion you can think of. Cinema? No. Swimming? No. Soft Play? No. C'mon kid, help me out here. Their suggestions be like, let's fly to the Maldives for 3hrs on a Saturday afternoon 😂 instead we ended up sat playing Airhead on Luna together... weather took a turn and went overcast, so she went into panic mode that we wouldn't be able to see the sunset whatsoever, but thankfully it brightened back up 😁 we nipped shop and grabbed some sweets & had a wander down to chill on the park and got some decent pictures! 🤗

Lysh has been for a bath to relax. She spent a good 15-minutes making a "preppy Tik-Tok" of the setup before she got in, doing unboxing of all her products etc 😅 then was in there for like 1.5hrs with the Alexa blasting out tunes whilst she relaxed... such a hard life these kids have! 🤪

I've been a proper spare part today so I've polished the living room, did the dishes, hoovered up and even cleaned the cooker hob... When kid had finished trashing the joint and left a kitchen side full of soaked dolls for me to dry off, she plonked herself down on the sofa and waited for me to cook her tea whilst she played on the iPad 😂💁🏼♂️

Been a funny kinda day 😂 weather has been utterly bipolar - blinded by sunshine on the way work, hail almost smashed the office window this afternoon, and then I thought I was legit gonna get blown into Hanley Forest Park lake on my way home from work! 😬 I messaged kiddo and she's left me on read... 🥴 so I've spent most my evening watching Memeulous on YouTube and then Dawson's Creek reruns whilst failing to pick a new game to start... 🙈 and finally I've settled on The Last Guardian since it's only a little single player title! 🎮

It's like an XL Bully that you want to befriend; you stroke it cautiously, yet cannot ignore the possibility it may randomly snap and tear your face off at any moment. The game, though beautiful in design, does a spectacular job of no hand-holding whatsoever; I've already got frustrated enough to Google how to get past a section because the hint kept telling me to climb, but I could not find anything to climb. Turned out, I didn't need to climb; the hint was misleading to say the least. The path so far it has been relatively linear, unsure if that's how it remains throughout, but exploration feels faux organic - it seems like you're following your own intuition and figuring it out, but there really is no other way to proceed so eventually you're always going to end up being correct. Did not finish. I'm regrettably abandoning this title already. The concept is nice, Trico is cool and the premise of training him like some kinda alien dog is novel... but my god are the controls janky and the environment repetitively bland. Jumping, climbing, and even running is frustrating - it's not smooth at all. And the gameplay is just not fun. I checked the IGN walkthrough to get a sense of how long the game is and after seeing I'm only on Part 5/14, I can't be bothered to endure that much more of this. I have way too many other games on my Backlog to find time for.

Rarely get face-time calls off Lysh anymore, she's often busy with friends, so I always make sure to take them when possible! Had a lovely hour or so chatting with her tonight - I miss her loads as she grows up and we naturally grow apart somewhat 💛

Pub quiz again with T & Stace; finished on higher points than last week (84) but finished lower (8th) 🙃 Busbomb! Dragon Boat Racing! Jet from Gladiators! 🤪 Finally bit the bullet and had my first alcoholic beverages since 31/12/2022, a couple Beavertown Neck Oil IPA's 🍻 always intended to return to alcohol at some point, not at the same level as previously, but at least to the point where I can casually have an alcoholic drink without lambasting myself... gonna be booking a holiday for June where I'll want to drink, and also attending a Stag Do at some point... so yeah after 474 days teetotal, I'm back... 😅

Pop Maccies for a spot of lunch we thought, be fun we thought... 😐 the first bottle of water they gave me was split and proceeded to soak the cup holder and fall through... Next thing I'm sitting cramped in between Joe in his carseat & Lysh eating her nuggies & fries... 🍟 I'm trying to feed Joe fries with one hand whilst he's still half asleep and mardy meaning he is thoroughly disinterested, and trying eat my Sweet Chilli Wrap with the other hand... but it's falling apart and a piece of chilli sauce covered cucumber has bounced in one of the McFlurries and then fallen between my legs, and I have no free hand to retrieve it... 🥒😫 I've got a cup holder balanced precariously on my knees with two McFlurries, a Lotus Frappe, and a bottle of water in it... 😬 Lysh has rushed to get her McFlurry unbalancing the cup holder which is threatening to fall off my knee into the footwell, makes a change from her shoving the seatbelt in my arse whilst trying to plug it in... 😳 Now Lance is about to pull off! In the absence of Charlie (who stayed up all night gaming and then fell asleep this morning after having some burgers), today has been uber productive. I 've really sorted out the front room with the new storage boxes, cleaned the front window, hoovered up and polished, done a data backup and OS upgrade, done the dishes, hit my 10k steps, and then cooked myself a pasta bake. Been a good busy day, and now to play some Rollerdrome! 🎮

Just been told the heartbreaking news by Lysh that her dog Ted had cancer and has crossed over the rainbow bridge this morning at 11am. He's been her best boy for the last 4yrs. She is absolutely heartbroken and the thought of her upset is enough to set me off too. Just want to hold her and comfort her through the grief. Life can be so cruel. Can't help but keep thinking about how upset she must be. Imagine her giving him a little fuss as she got ready for school, telling him she'll see him later, and then coming home to find him gone. She always proudly tells dog walkers when we're out and about that she has Ted, Nala and Frank, and now I keep imagining her going to tell people and getting upset realising all over again that he's gone. So fucking heartbreaking.

Another night happily spent at the Horn and Trumpet Pub Quiz with T & Stace 🥰 Tonight was stressy AF rushing around; didn't end up getting back from Tesco until like half-7 so didn't have time make myself anything eat... Literally just managed get ready in time to be kindly picked up by my brother and get the pub just before the quiz started 🙈 Needed line my stomach for the alcohol I'm still not used to drinking, so ordered an Ultimate Spicy Burger 🍔 then washed it down with a couple of Neck Oil's, a pint of Cruzcampo, and a San Miguel 🥴🍻 We didn't win the quiz again but it was another decent night spent with great company so I'll take that as a win 😁🙌🏼

Lysh's first attempt at wet shaving her armpits was undertaken using my razor (without consulting me first) in the shower tonight and has resulted in her having a bloody thumb 😅🙈 and then I've been and demonstrated how to do it properly with actual shaving gel too, not conditioner which she'd used originally!

Today we both got out of bed around 11am. Wild. I remember the days back when Lysh would wake me up at 5am on 3hrs sleep and I'd have to battle through the entire day on coffee and willpower alone! 😂 Times have seriously changed though. I also fondly remember the days spent playing with toys with her, or doing arts and crafts, or even time spent gaming together... I say that, because today she has spent all afternoon on video chat with her mate Ava and I've been surplus to requirement. I try to join in the conversation and games, and get pushed back out. I always knew one day she'd grow up and it wouldn't be "cool" to hang around with her Dad as much, but I guess I never really expected it to be this soon... ☹️ so be sure to cherish their childhoods, because it kinda sucks when they grow up!

[Playing Yazuka: Like a Dragon]
In the first hour of playing, all I have actually done is watch 52 minutes of (admittedly funny) cutscenes, and spend the other 8 minutes having 4 minor scuffles and a bit of running around the map. Enjoying it so far though - loosely reminds me of Persona 5.

Between incessant toothache, Veeam, RustDesk and various other wankshit... today can go deep throat itself. Got home and shut myself away all night watching Dawson's Creek re-runs & playing Yakuza... ✌🏼

After another day of frustration trying to resolve RustDesk bullshit and chasing down my Evri delivery from SHEIN, I relished the opportunity to go for a few bevs after work 🍻 knocked on for Carney at 7pm like a giddy school kid (pre-mobile phone era) seeing if their friend wanted to come out to play, only to find out he wasn't in... 🤦🏼♂️ I ended up over the Moorland with the scholar and gentleman Chris Mountford supping on a Madri and having a catch up 🍺 then Pete arrived and we skedaddled off down Forresters since Moorland was closing up for the night... there the shenaningans expanded over several Cruzcampo's with the ambiance of a bit of rough that we love when we came from the gutter! Cheers ya fuckers! 🍻
